Have you ever considered cellulite reduction surgery? With any type of medical procedure, there will be worst case scenarios, situations where something went horribly wrong. But for the most part, thousands of cellulite reduction surgeries are performed successfully every year. Let’s delve into the details of these surgical cellulite reduction treatments, the types, costs, and what you need to know before considering this treatment route.

Invasive v. Non-Invasive Treatment Procedures for Cellulite Reduction In the world of surgical cellulite reduction, there are two types of treatment procedures available. These reduction treatments are separated into invasive and non-invasive procedures. An invasive treatment involves entry into the body either by incision or by insertion of an instrument through the skin. Non-invasive treatments are procedures that can be done outside of the body by way of injections, light beams, radio waves, suction and massaging instruments. We will categorize and discuss the various surgical cellulite reduction methods in further detail below.

Invasive Treatments for Cellulite Reduction A popular invasive cellulite reduction surgery is liposuction. This treatment is invasive in the sense that the operation involves making an incision/cut on the skin over your fat, then inserting a hollow tube and moving it around the area to break down the fat cells and suck them out of your body. The surgery physically removes all fat cells in the targeted areas and cellulite reduction is permanent and immediately visible after the treatment. The favorable results have made this a popular cellulite treatment, and there are a plethora of qualified surgeons available. However, the costs associated with liposuction treatments range from $3000-7000/per area treated. Healing is painful and can take anywhere from 4-10 weeks. As with any major surgery, there are risks involved. Severe complications include adverse reactions to anesthesia, cardiac arrest, internal blood clots, excessive bleeding, seizures, permanent nerve damage and brain damage.

Non-Invasive Treatments for Cellulite Reduction Non-Invasive treatments for cellulite reduction are treatments that do not involve any cutting into the body. These treatments are virtually painless with no healing time required. Because non-invasive reduction procedures do not physically remove any fat from your body, results are not immediate. For visible cellulite reduction you will need multiple treatment session as well as ongoing maintenance sessions to maintain results. Actual reduction results vary from patient to patient, and are dependent on many factors, including but not limited to: the number and frequency of treatment sessions, area(s) being treated, amount body fat etc.

Mesotherapy treatment involves injecting a drug mixture directly into cellulite cells, breaking down and blocking them from storing fat. Treatment costs: $200-300/session, 6-10+ sessions for reduction results. The Velasmooth reduction treatment combines radio frequencies, infrared light energy, and external skin manipulation to reduce cellulite. Treatment costs: $300-600/session, 4-6 sessions for reduction results. Another reduction treatment, Endermologie, uses dual action rollers, external suctioning and massage to slowly smooth the dimpled skin caused by cellulite. Treatment costs: $60-90/per session, 15-20 sessions for reduction results.

In conclusion, although cellulite reduction may be achieved through these various surgical reduction treatments, it is up to you whether or not these results are permanent. After surgery, keep cellulite off by living a healthy lifestyle - exercise and eat the right foods. Cellulite reduction treatments will be a thing of your past. But, keep up your same old habits and it will return!
